Sweet Southern Wedding at Belle Meade Plantation

I couldn’t wait to receive these photos from the amazing Chuck Arlund of Arlund Imagery! This was one of our recent weddings during Labor Day weekend, held at the oh so southern Belle Meade Plantation. The above photo is a shot of the bride, Meagan Rutherford and her cute bridesmaids. Love not only the style of their dresses, but the color as well. We chose hot lime green as the accent color, using petite green hydrangea, green Fuji mums and green button mums. Meagan chose white spider mums as well as hydrangea and roses for her bouquet.

The above photo is a shot of our antique baby carriage, which has been used by many of our brides when a very small child is included in the wedding party. You can see the precious one in the background! We were fortunate to work with the amazing Karen Kaforey of Signature Events, who planned and executed the evening to perfection. It is amazing how smoothly your wedding will go when you choose a professional wedding planner…and it will lower your stress level as well!

Meagan chose all whites, creams and lime green for her colors in floral decor…..which given the fact it was SO hot that day…the white was a cooling effect…and it is THE color for 2011. The above photo is the buffet centerpiece, just waiting for the caterers.

The floral designs did not call for table number cards..but to the delight of the guests…it became breezy…and rather than the cards falling over into the votive candles and causing a disaster, we placed them in the floralarrangements…sometimes you just have to improvise.

Can you tell that Meagan really wanted green apples in the designs? Well, we like them too!

The photo below is NOT from Arlund Imagery….but rather our own. I wanted to include it to show our southern ivory lanterns…(right now we have 21 in inventory, but more to come). I also wanted to show what a great way that Meagan and her planner  Karen Kaforey displayed the seating chart. Each table listing was pinned to the burlap board using vintage jewelry pins…we used burlap as accents on that table as well as the bar area..just to give it a shabby chic effect.  Tea lights were hung in the magnolia tree…the bride making those herself of petite mason jars!

The last parting shot is of the covered areas at the carriage house at Belle Meade Plantation..many brides, as did Meagan for her wedding, reproduce photos of the bride and groom and hang them for guests to enjoy. We certainly enjoyed working with Meagan, who is now Mrs. Clark, and wish she a her new hubby Jordan the best!

Thank you again, Chuck Arlund for your talent (he is a true artist), and for sharing with us!

Lush fall florals attached to draped chuppah at Fontanel Mansion

One of our recent weddings was held at the fabulous Fontanel Mansion, the former home of Barbara Mandrell. Our bride, Elaine Pardo, chose this setting for her fall wedding, not only because of the beauty of the log home itself, but the wonderful area outside suitable for a ceremony using our chuppah frame. The beautiful draping was done by the professional team at Visual Elements..the fresh florals of course by our team at Branching Out. The bride and groom love the fall colors, which we used in the centerpieces for the seated dinner as well. Thanks to the great staff of Fontanel Mansion for the efficiency and professionalism for weddings and events!

Chic Rustique on Wolf Den Farm

Love this photo! So appropriate for the location, Wolf Den Farm, in Franklin Tennessee. Thank you to our bride Courtney Kincaid for sharing these photos! I must admit that I do enjoy designing weddings on a farm setting, although I have to say that the barn at Wolf Den Farm is amazing….huge iron chandeliers, fabulous arched doorways of stone, etc. Great photography!

Fun Casual Wedding Reception on the Farm

Lemon yellow was the theme and favorite color for one of our recent bride and groom, Shayna Baker and Josh DuPre. Both are friends with Michael W. Smith…who owns this fabulous party barn on his farm in Franklin, Tennessee. Shayna wanted lemons and limes with sunflowers, baby’s breath, yellow and white tulips everywhere! To go along with the “farm” look…the guest tables were long rectangles, rather than rounds…which gave us plenty of table space for multi-florals and candles, etc.

The escort card table was fully loaded with fresh lemons and limes…each guest took their cards with them to their assigned tables..which added more color to the guest tables.

Multiple centerpieces consisting of bright sunflowers and simple “baby’s breath” were placed in mason jars and square glass containers (for just a touch of contemporary), along with white lanterns purchased by the bride.

Chic rustique! What a fabulous farm for a wedding reception! I know the guests also enjoyed the food from Chef’s Market…who wouldn’t??

Chic Contemporary Summer Wedding at Cheekwood

I recently had the pleasure of designing the florals for Krista and Jevon’s wedding, which was held on the grounds of Cheekwood. Krista loves loves loves purple orchids..and as you can see, I used lots of purple vanda orchids for her bouquet. She wanted the bridesmaids to have a loose, garden feel and to bring in the yellow..freesia was used to accomplish that…and they smell so wonderful as well.

The centerpieces were a mix of purple vanda orchids and green goddess calla lillies….all in clear glass vases, which brought a cooling effect to the table. Krista had purchased fabulous chargers for the dinner plates, some in purple and some in fern green. To honor the Chihuly exhibit on the grounds, she also had purchased votive holders that mimicked the blown glass effect of the exhibit.

Thanks so much to the wonderful photos from Meishach Moore, who not only is a fabulous photographer, but a delightful vendor to work with!

Mixing shabby chic, rustic country and silver wedding…it works!

What to do when the bride likes silver, rather formal..but has to move her ceremony from an inside, elegant location to a farm? Well, you mix the look….after all, it is a farm…so we brought in our twig cones as aisle markers, used our iron columns to mark the “altar”..and placed elegant floral designs on top.

The cocktail hour was to be held in the barn…pictured above…we hung one of our iron chandeliers here and loaded it with hydrangea, roses, lillies and greens…and oh yes…those are our battery operated wax pillar candles…not to take any chances with flames in a barn! As ceremony time drew near…the clouds opened up…and the ceremony was moved inside…the chairs, the iron columns, flowers, etc…and the bride and groom stood underneath this chandelier….very romantic, very shabby chic!

So then…what do you do with the centerpieces? Well, you go right on and use the silver trumpet vases, wine coolers, compotes, etc….and fill them with a loose, garden look…mixing the shabby chic with the traditional, elegant container….it works!

Boots and Brides in Nashville

This shot is from one of our recent brides, Sloan Gentry…another wedding where the bridesmaids wear cowboy boots…after all, this IS Nashville. Thanks to Shaun Larson, a fantastic photojournalists here in town, who happened to be a personal friend of the bride’s family. The cowboy boots fit perfectly with the reception, which was held at Puckett’s Grocery in downtown Franklin, TN. Enjoy!

TLC…What Not to Wear…Nashville shoot

Last Friday I received a call from Emily West, producer, “What Not to Wear” which airs on TLC. They were surprising one of Nashville’s wedding vendors on Monday…and needed some floral decor, etc. The shoot took place at the Hermitage Hotel…and the surprisee thought she was pulling off a quick wedding for a couple…she had no idea that everyone was an actor!  LOL! We were happy to help…and can’t wait to see the episode when it airs!

A bit more in green and white bouquets and centerpieces

I finally have a little time to sit and update on my site..and wanted to continue with more photos of Caitlin’s wedding. Thanks to Divine Images for these wonderful shots. The room view above was the reception, a seated dinner at The Country Music Hall of Fame. Angela Proffitt designed and coordinated the wedding…I love how she used the very large square table centering the room as the head table(although it was not easy for short people like myself to reach the center with the designs..but that’s another story)..it looked mah-velous! The bridesmaids’ bouquets were all green: hydrangea, roses, berries, with fern green ribbon wrap. Beautiful night.

Spring green and white wedding on a cold January night in Nashville

The photo above was taken by the wonderful team of Leslie and Bill Emmetts of Divine Images..and is just a sneak peek from the wedding of Caitlin McAleese and Robby Franklin. We used two of our 5′ tall iron trees on the rather large head table..and filled the trees with fresh hydrangea, roses, stock, greens and hanging votives.  Can’t wait to show the bouquets, ceremony and more from the reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame. It was really refreshing to use whites, creams and greens for this wedding in January…especially after all the reds, gold, etc of the holidays. I think it was almost like a hint of spring.  Caitlin’s wedding coordinator, Angela Proffitt, kept everyone right on schedule…and the evening was a great success.
